Supplemental Instruction
Supplemental Instruction (SI) offers weekly study sessions to help you review material, practice skills, and get ready for exams. Sessions are led by peer leaders who’ve successfully completed the course and stay on track with what you’re learning by attending lectures with you. No appointment needed, just stop by!

Where do I go if drop-in learning/SI is not offered for a course I need help with?
We recommend you utilize office hours or student hours with your professor. For help with specific assignments that include writing, make an appointment with a Writing Consultant in the Writing Center, another free service offered by the Learning Commons.
If you are requesting learning support for a language class, please consult the course syllabus and the course instructor to see what assistance might be available.
What if drop-in learning/SI does not fit with my schedule?

Can my friend and I come to drop-in learning/SI together?
Yes, if you and your friends have similar questions, come to our drop-in sessions together! To best support you and your group, please come with specific questions or concepts you would like the peer consultant to work through.
What should I bring?
Bring a specific question, problem, or concept you are struggling with. You can also bring any notes, textbooks, or other materials you’ve been using. Be prepared to talk about what you have already tried or where you are getting stuck.
How long can I work with a peer consultant/SI leader?
Peer consultants will help as time and demand allow. If there are multiple students waiting, you may have a brief session and then be asked to circle back so others can get help too.
